Nottingham Forest were beaten 2-1 by Fulham yesterday with the Reds remaining in third place in the Premier League.
Chris Wood bagged for the 18th time this season but goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Calvin Bassey saw the talisman’s strike pale into insignificance.
The Reds have endured a tough week. Forest needed extra time and penalties to beat League One outfit Exeter away from home on Tuesday and clearly that had an impact on the performance at Fulham.
Forest will now hope to bounce back next weekend when they head north to Newcastle. Naturally, all is not yet lost with the Reds still in a great position in the Premier League table.

Anthony Elanga brings up Nottingham Forest milestone
Yesterday might have proved a bad day for Forest but it was a positive day for Anthony Elanga. The Reds star has been in fine form of late and was back in the starting line-up yesterday.
Elanga has now played 100 Premier League games which is a milestone worthy of mention. After starting his career in England with Manchester United, he’s now really kicked on as a player at Forest.
He signed terms at the City Ground after Forest agreed to pay £15 million to land him. The jury was out from the outset given that his time with United had seen him struggle for consistency.
All he needed, however, was a chance to play regular football. Forest have given him that chance and he’s now thriving under real faith from a head coach like Nuno Espirito Santo.
Elanga has been in red-hot form since signing for Forest. He had a little blip earlier in the 2024/25 campaign but now he’s definitely considered one of the top players in the Reds’ squad at the moment.
Elanga posts four-word reaction on Instagram
The 22-year-old lost his place in the Sweden team last year but on current form, he’s surely a certainty to be called back up for the World Cup qualifiers which take place in March.
After yesterday’s game, Elanga posted a four-word reaction to his milestone on social media. He said on Instagram: “Bittersweet but grateful nevertheless.”
Elanga has made the spot his own on the right-hand side of the pitch. He possesses blistering pace and has also been helping out with goals and assists during his time at Forest.
At 22, the winger has bags of time on his side. Hopefully, Forest can start to see even more from him as he grows accustomed to regular football and if the Reds reach Europe next season, he will almost certainly want to stay at the club.
