It all started so well for Nottingham Forest against Newcastle United as the Reds opened the scoring through Callum Hudson-Odoi.
However, two goals in two-and-a-half minutes from Lewis Miley and Jacob Murphy ensured the game went full circle, with Alexander Isak bagging a brace to see the Magpies secure a massive half-time lead.
Forest will hope to come up trumps in the second half but in reality, all Nuno Espirito Santo has to play for is a bit of pride and attention will soon focus towards Wednesday’s trip to Arsenal.
There was a surprise omission from the team sheet when it was announced prior to kick-off. As a result, a reputable journalist has provided an update on the Brazilian midfielder Danilo.

Paul Taylor provides update on Forest star Danilo
Thankfully Danilo isn’t injured and this was merely a selection conundrum made by Espirito Santo.
Taylor said on social media: “For those asking, Danilo is not injured, just a selection choice. Lots of options when the squad is all fit.”
Danilo broke his ankle on the opening day of the season and only returned earlier this month in a starting sense when Forest played Brighton at the City Ground.
It’s a relief that the’s not injured as on this showing the Reds need to get Danilo back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
Forest truly awful in first half of Newcastle
After taking the lead this was total capitulation from a Forest point of view and that won’t be good enough in the eyes of Espirito Santo.
Danilo was perhaps missed by the Reds with his flair a glaring omission from the middle of the park with nobody capable of getting a foot on the ball.
The youngster is clearly being monitored closely. There is no need to rush him constantly with a hectic run of games coming on the horizon for the Reds.
Danilo is going to be important between now and the end of the season and he was sorely missed during the first half at St James’ Park.
