Chris Sutton says who will win out of Nottingham Forest and Arsenal after ‘devastating’ results

Nottingham Forest take on Arsenal tonight looking to right a few wrongs when it comes to the recent run of Premier League form.

Forest were beaten 4-3 by Newcastle on Sunday to make it three successive defeats away from the City Ground and Nuno Espirito Santo needs to arrest the current form quickly.

Mikel Arteta has sent a warning to Forest with his team news. The Arsenal boss will know that a bad result on Trentside tonight would likely see his team’s very slim hopes of winning the title completely evaporate.

Gary Neville has made a Forest prediction and pundits are sharpening their knives when it comes to discussing the team and their hopes of reaching next season’s Champions League.

The Reds were off the pace against Newcastle with Micah Richards delivering a verdict on Forest and the opportunity for the team tonight is to silence some of the pundits who seem hellbent on pulling the team down.

Chris Sutton predicts who will win Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

Sutton has been telling everyone and anyone who will listen that he’s a Forest fan this season. Unsurprisingly, he wasn’t quite so vocal during the club’s first two seasons back in the Premier League with relegation battles on the cards.

Still, that is the nature of the beast when it comes to modern-day football and Sutton is now firmly on the bandwagon when it comes to supporting Forest and who can blame him this season?

Ahead of tonight’s game, he’s been delivering his predictions and he believes that Forest will get something from the contest against the Gunners with Arteta’s team losing 1-0 to West Ham on Saturday.

He told BBC Sport: “Saturday’s home defeat by West Ham was a real hammer blow for Arsenal’s title hopes.

They need to bounce back and find a way of beating Nottingham Forest but this is a tough trip after such a devastating result, and I am not so sure they will take the points here either.

Forest are not in great form themselves, and got a bit of a walloping by Newcastle. Nuno Espirito Santo was clearly unhappy with some of his side’s defending in that game.

But how are Arsenal going to score goals? I don’t know at the moment.

If Gunners boss Mikel Arteta needs a left-back, he has got a few of them on the bench. Unfortunately, he needs a centre-forward, and there is not one of those to be seen.”

Forest win could be huge after Tuesday results in the Premier League

Defeats for Aston Villa and Bournemouth made last night’s games pretty positive for Forest. Fulham did manage to claim a big three points but they are still some way back in the hunt on Forest.

Tonight, the Reds will know that they could drop a few players with a defeat. Manchester City face Tottenham, whilst the other club who can go above Forest is Newcastle and they travel to Liverpool.

Nothing will be decided tonight of course but things are getting very tight in the race for Europe. As a result, Forest will hope to put on a show tonight and deliver a big three points for the fan base on home soil.
