Nottingham Forest fans are daring to dream about hearing the famous Champions League music at the City Ground.

The Reds are closing in on a place in the elite European club competition next season following a 4-2 win over Ipswich Town at the weekend.

Forest are now seven points clear of Newcastle in sixth but have played a game more than the team who lifted the Carabao Cup Final yesterday.

A number of players produced the goods against the Tractor Boys. Nikola Milenkovic was rock solid defensively, whilst Elliot Anderson was once again in fine form in midfield.

Morgan Gibbs-White has now been called up for the England squad after initially missing out and Forest now have a chance to take stock during the international break.

Robbie Mustoe hails Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga

It was a game to remember for Elanga at Portman Road as he scored more than once in a match for the first time in his career.

Given his brilliance, it’s remarkable that he’s never managed to do that before and Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping he can do that again as the season reaches a climax.

Elanga impressed NBC Sports pundit Robbie Mustoe and he is pleased to see the player starring and playing a little bit closer to the centre of the pitch.

He said on The 2 Robbies Podcast: “I love that Anthony Elanga is playing more centrally – he plays on the right but he drifts inside. He’s such an underrated guy, he’s gone to Forest to play and he’s become a proper player now, so I’m really pleased for him.”

The Sweden international will head off to represent his country over the next fortnight and he’s been in fine form since the turn of the year.

After scoring a late winning goal against Aston Villa in December, Elanga’s confidence has gone through the roof, with his form improving as such.

In recent weeks, the decision to get Elanga drifting inside a little bit more often has paid dividends, with his second goal on Saturday seeing him cause devastation.

Elanga will be delighted to bag twice albeit against Ipswich and he will now be looking to get more goal contributions as Forest chase a Champions League spot.
