Nottingham Forest have been meticulous in the last couple of transfer windows but that could change in the summer.

Forest are currently third in the Premier League table and there is no doubt that the team will be dreaming of Champions League football.

The Reds have seven more points than the team occupying sixth place and with five teams getting in this season, there’s never been a better chance.

Nuno Espirito Santo has won praise from pundits this year and the work that he’s done to gel together this group of players has been remarkable.

He will be seeking new players in the summer, with Viktor Gyokeres already linked with Forest ahead of what promises to be an exciting few months in the off-season.

Nottingham Forest want Alexis Saelemaekers

According to Planet Rome, Forest are joining Newcastle in the race to land Saelemaekers during the transfer window.

The winger is currently on loan from AC Milan at Roma and the Serie A outfit could look to cash in during the summer transfer window.

Saelemaekers has been in good form during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring six goals and registering five assists from 26 appearances.

The player is an international teammate of Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels and the hope would be that he could have the same degree of impact on the Reds team.

Saelemaekers has also played for Anderlecht and Bologna during his career and the Premier League could prove to be his next port of call.

What Leandro Paredes said about Forest target Alexis Saelemaekers

At 25-years-old the player definitely fits the profile of the sort of player that Forest have been looking at in recent windows.

His Roma teammate Paredes said: “He is an important player with a lot of quality, if he also scores goals for us, it’s great.”

Forest will definitely be eyeing more wingers during the summer transfer window.

Ramon Sosa and Jota Silva have failed to have a massive impact on things this season and it would be no surprise to see both of those players move on in the summer.

Saelemaekers feels like a great fit for Forest but with Newcastle also keen on the player, a deal might be tricky to strike when the summer comes around.

Squawka also shows that Saelemaekers completes more take-ons than Anthony Elanga having played one game more this season.
