Nottingham Forest are going to Wembley having reached the semi-final of the FA Cup for the first time since 1991.

The Reds beat Brighton 4-3 on penalties to reach the semi-final and will now face Manchester City for a place in the showpiece match in May.

Forest were solid in drawing 0-0 with Brighton and the defensive resolution has made a refreshing change this season in comparison to the last one.

There were a number of top performers against Brighton at the weekend, with Nuno Espirito Santo getting his tactics spot on.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer agree on performance of Matz Sels vs Brighton

Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, the talk turned once again to the performance of Sels between the Forest posts at the weekend.

It proved to be yet another clean sheet for the goalkeeper and he will look to claim another tomorrow night to edge him closer to the Golden Glove accolade.

Both pundits were in agreement on Sels and believe he’s been an integral part of everything good about Forest this season.

Lineker said: “Word on probably the one real standout in the game, Matz Sels, his performance, he made one very good save and obviously in the shootout, that’s three times this season now.”

Shearer agreed and added: “Unbelievable. He’s played a huge part in what Forest have done this season. You have to have a very good goalkeeper, one who is having a good season, like he is to do what they’re doing. Fair play to him, he’s been terrific.”

Sels was in fine form for the Reds against Brighton, and his save from a Diego Gomez header allowed Forest to take the game to penalties.

Forest did test Bart Verbruggen in the Brighton goal, but ultimately, the save that Sels made was the real moment of magic in the contest.

Sels has really surprised some Forest fans this season with his performances being a thing of real beauty at various points of the campaign.

Now, the challenge for the Belgian is to help Forest finish the job and qualify for the Champions League next season.
