It won’t be long before Nottingham Forest are looking to reshape their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Given that European football could be on the agenda next season, it might be a busy two months for Forest from a transfer perspective.
Last summer saw the club become diligent and savvy in the market, with 11 players added and two of them – David Carmo and Marko Stamenic – joining Olympiacos on loan.
The additions of Nikola Milenkovic and Elliot Anderson really caught the eye, with both players have a big impact on the current campaign.
As ever, the summer is all about incoming additions but perhaps crucially, on the back of a good campaign, anxiety will remain over whether the star players can remain on Trentside.

Manchester City have Morgan Gibbs-White on their radar
Forest were always going to face a fight to keep hold of Gibbs-White in the summer given his exploits this season.
Once again, he’s been the man who makes Forest tick and ultimately, with that comes a certain degree of interest in his services.
City will be in the market for a new number 10 following the news on Friday that Kevin De Bruyne will depart the Etihad Stadium in the summer.
The Athletic journalist David Ornstein said: “The recruitment will now be centered around a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. The likes of Morgan Gibbs-White from the Premier League will be under consideration and on their radar.”
Morgan Gibbs-White stats 2024/25
Since checking in on Trentside, there has been a consensus that perhaps Gibbs-White should be scoring more goals given his quality.
That perhaps still holds him back a little bit but it’s fair to say that without his creativity this season, the Reds wouldn’t be third in the Premier League.
| Morgan Gibbs-White Premier League stats 2024/25 | Total |
| Appearances | 27 |
| Goals | 5 |
| Assists | 7 |
| Key Passes | 44 |
| Dribbles | 69 |
| Who Scored Rating | 7.04 |
Given that Forest paid just £25 million for his services, he’s proved value for money even if the fee does increase to £40 million with add-ons.
Forest will have to fight tooth and nail to keep Gibbs-White this summer but Champions League football might just help the Reds in that particular quest.
If he does leave, any interested party will have to dig deep and as a result, it could prove to be a win-win situation for Forest.
