Nottingham Forest were beaten 2-1 in the Premier League by Aston Villa as a couple of star players missed out through injury.
The fitness issues couldn’t have come at a worse time for Forest.
This season has seen the team use fewer players than any other team and as a result, consistency has been evident in the team’s results.
Forest are capable of winning without some of their top stars, with the Reds beating Manchester United last week, without Callum Hudson-Odoi or Chris Wood.
However, with seven matches left to play, it’s vital that Nuno Espirito Santo has all of his players fit and the current situation with Ola Aina has been particularly worrying.

Ola Aina issues fitness update ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Everton
Some reports had claimed that Aina would be back for Everton although that feels like a bit of a long shot.
The 27-year-old was struck down with a calf problem against United and it’s not clear how long he will be out for.
Now, a photograph has been shared on the player’s official Snapchat and it would seem that he’s still not walking without the aid of crutches.
That does feel like a blow for Forest as the team will undoubtedly view the home games as winable and crucial in the quest for Champions League football.
Ola Aina stats 2024/25
The Nigerian international has been one of the most consistent players this season and would be in the running for Player of the Year.
However, it’s not clear when he will return from injury and right now, that’s a cause for concern.

Forest do have Alex Moreno, who can slot in at left-back and Neco Williams, who is capable at right-back, but after that, there isn’t a lot else.
Aina is very important to the way in which Espirito Santo wants his teams to play and the hope will be that he can be back on the pitch in no time.
