Nottingham Forest will be trying to attract some stellar additions to the squad ahead of next season, with European football a genuine possibility for the Reds.
Forest are currently third in the Premier League table, however, the team will slip to fourth should Newcastle avoid defeat against Crystal Palace tonight.
The Reds are fighting hard to claim a place in the Champions League and that would do wonders for the club’s ability to attract better options to the City Ground for next season.
Forest will still be able to get considerable quality to the club if it’s the Europa League on the agenda instead but after being in the higher echelons for a long time, the team will want to finish the job.
A marquee signing or two would definitely help the club in the summer. Viktor Gyokeres has been linked to Forest and now, another name has come onto the radar.

Nottingham Forest want Joao Palhinha
According to Caught Offside, the Reds are ones to watch in the race to sign former Fulham midfielder Palhinha at the end of the campaign.
Forest won’t be alone in this race, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal likely to be offered the chance to bring the player back to the Premier League.
Those three might not choose to take the Portuguese performer, however, with West Ham, Forest and Fulham all keeping a close eye on the midfielder.
Palhinha has spent a single season in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and they’re now willing to sanction a transfer, with the player very keen to return to England this summer.
Joao Palhinha stats 2024/25
The man with 33 caps for Portugal could be the missing piece of the puzzle for Forest when it comes to the midfield ranks and his arrival would represent a coup.
Forest could do with a ball-playing midfielder who isn’t afraid to get involved with the ugly side of the game and Palhinha might just be perfect.
| Joao Palhinha stats 2024/25 | Total |
| Appearances | 14 |
| Tackles | 23 |
| Accurate short passes | 468 |
| Passes blocked | 11 |
| Key passes | 4 |
The Reds do have a plethora of midfield players but if Forest are to be in Europe next season, they will want to have members of the squad who have experienced those big nights.
Palhinha has done that in abundance across his career and hopefully, this report is accurate with his arrival likely to be unanimously welcomed by the fan base.
