Despite Nottingham Forest enjoying an almost perfect campaign, their hopes of Champions League football could soon slip away.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side kicked off April with a win against Manchester United, but have since gone winless in their last two games.

Forest were lacklustre against Everton in their latest defeat and now face a huge fight for European football.

Champions League rivals Manchester City, Chelsea and Aston Villa all won at the weekend, meaning Forest now sit down in sixth.

Nottingham Forest’s top-five chances

Many have predicted Forest vs Spurs to be a draw, but the City Ground outfit will recognise the need for three points, with the chasing pack hunting them down.

With Manchester City likely to secure third and Newcastle flying in recent weeks (Villa result aside), Forest will likely be fighting for fifth.

Luckily for Forest fans, it seems like they could win the battle for the last Champions League spot, with Opta predicting them to finish fifth ahead of Aston Villa and Chelsea.

Nottingham Forest have kind Premier League run-in

When it comes to predicting Forest’s chances of securing a top-five spot, it seems like the stats have put a strong emphasis on the club’s kind run-in.

For example, barring a final-day clash against Chelsea, Nuno’s side don’t face any of their Champions League rivals in the run-in.

With fixtures against the already relegated Leicester City and struggling West Ham, Forest will be hoping to have already sealed their top-five spot before they host the Blues on the final day.
