Former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is being linked with a plethora of Championship jobs.
Steve Cooper is adored by Nottingham Forest fans, having guided the club to a shock promotion during the 2021/22 campaign.
Cooper kept Forest up the following season before departing in December 2023, much to the sadness of supporters.
The Welshman’s next job at Leicester City lasted just a few months as he was sacked last November, despite having the Foxes outside of the relegation zone.
Since then, Cooper has been working for UEFA as a Technical Observer but could soon return to the dugout.
It’s understood West Bromwich Albion have made Cooper a ‘frontrunner’ for the job following Tony Mowbray’s sacking.
Albion fans have now reacted to the news and all share the same feeling.

West Bromwich Albion fans want Steve Cooper
West Brom supporters have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on Cooper potentially joining the club.
@CJHall83 posted: “I said it last time but if he’s interested Steve Cooper would be right at the top of my list. Plays decent football, brings through young players, has good contacts and a good record at this level. Feel he’s done a good job everywhere he’s been!”
@MartinTully_ added: “Be mine too. Forget the football he played at Leicester, as his stints at England, Swansea and Forest produced quality.”
“Never understood the hate he got at Leicester recently and was proved right. Would be a really solid appointment not sure if it’ll happen though,” @Adhith_17 commented.
“Give Steve Cooper what he wants, proper manager,” @Heggem_sznn posted.
“I suspect our next manager will be another manager out of work. Steve Cooper probably my choice but it’s unrealistic to think he will drop a league to come to us,” @BigBobFootball said.
@BateM86 added: “Anyone got Steve Cooper’s number?”
Cooper could also emerge as candidate for Norwich City
Norwich City are also looking for a new manager following the sacking of Johannes Hoff Thorup on Tuesday.
The Canaries currently reside 14th in the Championship, with the chance of play-offs now mathematically impossible.
So, that said, it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see Cooper’s name crop up in discourse around their next appointment.
Though, the 45-year-old may be tempted to wait for a job higher up in the second tier or perhaps even the Premier League.
Cooper’s stock still remains relatively high despite the Leicester sacking.
