Nottingham Forest fans all saying the same thing about £30m star after performance vs West Ham

Nottingham Forest won 2-1 against West Ham United to set up a mouthwatering clash against Chelsea on the final day of the 2024/25 campaign.

Champions League football is still obtainable for Forest, although the team will need some things to fall into place on the final day if the elite European competition is on the agenda for next season.

Forest won the game courtesy of goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nikola Milenkovic, with the Hammers pulling one back in the 86th minute thanks to a brilliant Jarrod Bowen goal.

A VAR check threatened the second Forest goal, but ultimately, common sense prevailed, and throughout the game, the Reds appeared comfortable, keeping West Ham out of reach.

It’s been a big few weeks for one player in particular and after his performance against West Ham, fans are unanimous over their feelings towards Ibrahim Sangare.

Nottingham Forest fans in agreement on Ibrahim Sangare

It’s been tough for Sangare at times since he signed for Forest for £30 million from PSV in the summer of 2023, shortly after the club had cashed in on Brennan Johnson to Tottenham.

After earning a start in the team for the game against Crystal Palace earlier this month, however, he’s not looked back and now some plaudits have come his way from the fan base.

Another impressed supporter said: “Sangare has been great today. Am I allowed to say that?”

Sangare was all over the pitch at the London Stadium and another fan said: “People do realise Sangare has been like this the whole time at Forest in possession. Passing through the lines. Never got the dislike for him personally.”

Finally, one supporter said: “Sangare’s composure and passing in tight spots is so good.”

The Ivorian actually started the current campaign well in the Forest team but a hamstring problem curtailed his progress, putting him out of action for many months.

Now, he’s determined to make up for lost time and clearly, the Reds boss Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to give him every chance possible to get into some form at Forest.

The season might actually be ending at the wrong time for Sangare and he must be wishing that he’d been handed a proper opportunity a few months back to allow him more game time.

With European football to come next season, Sangare could be a big player for the team, boasting experience in playing in big European nights during his time with PSV.

It’s baby steps with Sangare and consistency will be key if he’s to truly convince the Forest fans that he’s a player who can truly star in English football in the coming years.
