Nottingham Forest will be very active in the transfer market this summer as the club prepares for the UEFA Conference League next season.
Forest are close to signing Igor Jesus from Botafogo. The striker will be joined in Nottingham by left-back Cuiabano and central defender Jair Cunha, with Forest keen to tap into their South American resources once again.
By and large, however, the squad is pretty good at the City Ground. Defensively, Matz Sels and Nikola Milenkovic were solid last season, Elliot Anderson is capable in midfield, whilst Chris Wood bagged 20 times during the 2024/25 campaign.
Forest will see some players leave the club, too. Danilo is going to Lyon, whilst Harry Toffolo and Willy Boly will likely be looking for new clubs after the expiration of their contracts.

David Carmo will return to Nottingham Forest
According to Greek outlet Sportime, Olympiacos are definitely moving on from Carmo, with the central defender now set to link up with Forest for pre-season training ahead of next season.
Forest parted with £10 million for Carmo and sent him straight over to Olympiacos for a second loan spell. During his first season with the Greek giants, he helped them win the UEFA Conference League, and that might just bode well.
The 25-year-old has made 35 appearances for Olympiacos during his second spell with the club. He’s helped them win a league and cup double, and now he will be trying desperately to impress Nuno Espirito Santo.
Forest have decisions to make at centre-back
Milenkovic and Murillo are fantastic players, and neither of their places are open for discussion next season. However, if it comes to play three central defenders, there is definitely a decision to be made going forward.
Forest never dropped points when Morato came on as a substitute last season. However, there were some doubts over his ability to start games, with his performance level often erratic when called upon in the starting eleven.
Cunha could be kept at the club when he joins from Botafogo, whilst Zach Abbott is another option coming through the ranks, with Carmo now set to add to the quota of central defenders too.
Forest won’t keep all of the central defenders around, and with that in mind, there is a decision to be made over who stays and who leaves the club, either on loan or permanently.
Carmo has a European pedigree, however, and the club shouldn’t be hasty over his future. He could make a serious impact on the first team next season, and having him around the squad would see the options available to Espirito Santo instantly improve.
