It’s impossible for every Nottingham Forest academy inductee to walk the path towards first-team stardom.

Historically, Forest have a proud history when it comes to the academy ranks.

A number of players have become star players, with Brennan Johnson signing for Tottenham and earning Forest £47.5 million in the way of a transfer fee.

Others have fetched big money too, with Matty Cash, Oliver Burke, Ben Brereton Diaz and Arvin Appiah all coming through the ranks and leaving for millions.

It’s that time of the year again when Forest sever ties with a number of players and yesterday, Sam Collins announced he’d signed for Kings Lynn.

Now, another FA Youth Cup hero has made an announcement regarding his future.

Jack Nadin signs for new club after leaving Nottingham Forest

Nadin helped Forest reach the FA Youth Cup final in 2021/22, but injury ruled him out of the final, with Warren Joyce naming him as a substitute in a token gesture.

The versatile forward looked like a decent prospect, but he’s now announced that his future is in Wales.

Nadin has penned terms with the Welsh champions TNS and in a few weeks, he will embark on a Champions League qualifying campaign with the club.

The player was part of the team last season that helped Forest win the Premier League International Cup, and it will now be intriguing to see how he performs playing against men.

Nadin has chance to establish himself at top club

Welsh football is hardly a top division, but TNS are at least a reputable club in that particular country.

Nadin will have a chance to get going in the men’s game without much pressure on his shoulders, with TNS typically challenging for the title every season.

It’s quite special for the youngster that he will get the chance to sample the Champions League, and hopefully, he can get in the team and score a few goals.

At 20, the time probably was right for Forest to cut Nadin loose and now he will need to stand on his own two feet at a professional club and prove he’s got what it takes to be a full-time footballer.
