Nottingham Forest are going to make an assault on the transfer window this summer with a number of new players in the offing.

Forest will have the UEFA Conference League in their sights next season, and as a result, the squad will need to be packed out with more depth.

Nuno Espirito Santo will target a number of new faces, and others may depart the City Ground.

Wingers will be the order of the day, with Newcastle watching Anthony Elanga closely and Callum Hudson-Odoi also attracting interest.

Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa didn’t exactly take off as amazing signings last season, and with that in mind, better depth is required.

Nottingham Forest make offer for Norwich star Borja Sainz

According to Marca, the Reds have now placed an offer on the table that matches that of Porto.

The offer of around £13 million is being mulled over by Norwich, although it could be a while before Forest receive an answer on this one.

That’s because Athletic Bilbao have identified Sainz as a player who can replace Nico Williams this summer, with his release clause of £48m likely to be activated.

Sainz is viewed as an option for the La Liga outfit this summer, and Norwich think their desire to bolster their squad will help drive the winger’s price tag up.

Forest could potentially loan Sainz to Olympiacos for a season first, and that might not be overly popular given how useful the Spaniard was last season.

Sainz could make an impact at Forest

The EFL shouldn’t be discounted when it comes to signing players.

There are some bargains to be had in the Championship, and Sainz performed extremely well last season for the Canaries.

The left-winger scored 19 goals last season and registered four assists from his 43 appearances.

Norwich failed to make the play-offs and although new boss Liam Manning would dearly love to keep him, he looks to be fighting a losing battle.

Sainz has been with Norwich since checking in from Giresunspor in 2023, and at 24-years-old, he would be a signing with the present in mind for Forest.
