Igor Jesus will be signing for Nottingham Forest in the coming weeks, but right now he’s dreaming of Club World Cup glory.
Jesus is checking in at Forest from Botafogo after the tournament in the United States. He will also be joined in the East Midlands by defender Jair Cunha once the newly formed Club World Cup is over.
Jesus is in the mood for more silverware before he leaves the Brazilian champions, and last night he helped his team get off to a flyer with a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders.
The striker began the game leading the line in attack, and it proved to be a night to remember for the player who will join Forest ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Brazilian media react to performance of Igor Jesus vs Seattle Sounders
Jesus sent Botafogo in at half-time two goals to the good by scoring right on the stroke of the interval, with the game played at the home of the Seattle Sounders.
The champions weren’t fazed by playing the opposition on their own turf, however, and took the lead after 28 minutes when Jair Cunha scored.
Jesus made it a dream first half by heading home in the 44th minute, before producing his trademark celebration.
Globo raved about his performance after the game, with a public vote seeing him score 8.3/10 and the media scoring him 7/10.
They wrote: “He gave Seattle a hard time in the first few minutes. He had a shot in the penalty area blocked by Ragen after just six minutes. He kept trying and scored in the final stretch of the first half, with a header. He was important in the aerial game and in the pivot battles. He finished the match as a left-winger, after Arthur Cabral came on.”

Jesus proved last night that he can play as a striker or on the wing, and that level of versatility will be ideal in a demanding Premier League campaign.

At 24, Forest are making a bit of an investment in the future by signing Jesus, and he will complement Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi’s physical attributes nicely.
This latest performance will certainly have caught the eye of Forest and the hope will be that he can bag more goals at the Club World Cup and head to the City Ground full of confidence.
