Nottingham Forest have completed their second summer signing with Jair Cunha swapping Botafogo for the City Ground.
Igor Jesus has signed for Forest from Botafogo, and now he will be joined by a familiar face on the banks of the River Trent.
Forest have sold Anthony Elanga to Newcastle, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White is wanted by Tottenham amid news that a £60 million release clause was inserted into his contract.
Cunha looks like an attractive signing for Forest to have made. He’s an uncompromising 6ft 6in defender who typically operates on the left-hand side at the heart of the defensive unit.
The 20-year-old looks set for a bright future in the game, and it will now be interesting to see what sort of role he plays at the City Ground.

Jair Cunha praised by Ross Wilson after signing for Forest
Wilson has himself linked with a move away from Forest this summer, with Newcastle keen to appoint him as their transfer guru.
Cunha is clearly a player who has been identified as a target for a little while and now, Wilson has shared exactly why the club chose to sign him.
Wilson told the club’s official website: “Jair is a young talent who has shown quality during his time in Brazil, and we are happy to have secured his signature.
“Jair has flourished in Brazil and has new ambitions as he moves to the Premier League. We know he will be warmly welcomed into the group here in Nottingham.”
Cunha may go on loan in the short term
Cunha has signed a five-year deal to remain on Trentside until 2030 and ultimately, the future looks bright for the defender.
In the short term, it will be interesting to see what the future looks like but these comments, however, suggest that he might stick around.
Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo, Morato and Willy Boly are all in the squad, with David Carmo also checking in after his loan spell with Olympiacos.
Cunha looks like one for the future at Forest and now it will be fascinating to see what the future holds for the tall central defender.
Wilson’s comments suggest that he will be remaining at Forest and with a good run in pre-season, Cunha might find himself thrust into first-team action.
