Nottingham Forest are starting to increase their efforts to sign new players this summer.

Anthony Elanga has signed for Newcastle this month, with Danilo and Andrew Omobamidele also departing the City Ground in permanent deals.

The Reds could lose Morgan Gibbs-White too, with Tottenham looking to get their hands on the number 10 before the season gets underway.

With outgoings the order of the day since the end of last season, Forest are now stepping up their efforts to sign some new players before pre-season really gets going.

Nottingham Forest submit bid for Dan Ndoye

According to Fabrizio Romano, Forest are now trying to press ahead with the signing of Ndoye as the Reds look to unite Nuno Espirito Santo with a replacement for Elanga.

It’s not advanced or anything of that nature but with Ndoye already agreeing terms over a move to Forest, the Reds have now submitted the first bid for the winger.

Romano claims that Napoli and Crystal Palace are also keen on Ndoye this summer, but he believes Forest are the club making the most effort to sign him right now.

Ndoye scored nine goals and registered six assists last season for Bologna as they claimed a place in the Europa League by winning the Coppa Italia.

Ndoye is the perfect replacement for Elanga

Although he’s a year older at 24, the man with 22 caps for Switzerland feels like the sort of player who could quickly become a hit with the Forest fan base.

Ndoye operates on the right flank and as a result, he’d be a plug-and-play option in that position for Forest when it comes to an alternative for the departed Elanga.

It’s certainly positive that Ndoye has not only said yes to coming to Forest but also that it would appear as though it’s the Reds who are leading the chase to sign him.

Espirito Santo will want to address the imbalance of the squad before the season gets underway and hopefully, Ndoye is a signing that can be taken care of pretty quickly.
