Nottingham Forest’s transfer business is ramping up after the conclusion of the Portugal trip, but one star looks set to suffer as a result.
Forest are set to complete the signing of Dan Ndoye after beating Serie A champions Napoli to the Swiss winger’s signature, a crucial piece of business as Anthony Elanga has now been replaced.
Alongside Ndoye, Nuno Espírito Santo is desperate to sign Adama Traoré to enhance Forest’s options off the bench, an area of the squad that was somewhat lacking last season.
This has already been emphasised by the exits of Ramon Sosa and Danilo, who look set to be joined by another fringe option who has been told he has no future at the City Ground.

Carlos Miguel has been told to leave Nottingham Forest
Amid the transfer news, the Forest squad have just completed their warm weather training camp in Portugal, which included two pre-season friendlies.
However, Carlos Miguel was absent from the Portugal camp without a word on whether this was injury or transfer-related, but John Percy has now confirmed it was very much the latter.
In a report for The Telegraph, Percy said: “At least one new senior goalkeeper will be signed to join Golden Glove joint-winner Matz Sels. Carlos Miguel, a signing from Corinthians last July, has been left at home and told to find a new club.”
Three cup appearances for the Brazilian last season perhaps suggest that it’s not a surprise that he’s been told to leave, but the incredible consistency of Sels also played a part in his lack of minutes.
Espírito Santo was keen to give Miguel a chance but that’s just the role of a backup keeper, a role that Forest will now need to replace, given the similar outlook for Matt Turner’s future at the club.
Matt Turner will also leave Nottingham Forest
Unexpectedly, Turner has become an integral character in one of the biggest stories of the summer, with the American tied up in the Forest and Crystal Palace UEFA saga.
Turner has a deal in principle to join Lyon who were owned by John Textor, the multi-club mogul who is at the heart of why Forest may replace Palace in the Europa League.
Remarkably, though, reports have suggested that Lyon are trying to get out of the Turner deal, deploying the lawyers to look for a way to cancel the transfer that was agreed when Textor was still in charge.
However that story concludes, Turner will still exit the City Ground this summer alongside Miguel, leaving young Aaron Bott as the only backup to Sels.
A new shot-stopper will undoubtedly be found, then, potentially with the chance to play more minutes, given the extra fixtures that come with a European tour.
