Forest have made four additions so far this summer, with Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha, Dan Ndoye and Angus Gunn joining.

Arguably, the best bit of business they’ve done all summer is tying Morgan Gibbs-White down to a new contract.

So, whilst there is more work to do, Forest’s squad is in good shape and here is where the Rest Is Football podcast have predicted them to finish.

With European football on the horizon, meaning a congested fixture list, there have been some concerns around how Forest will handle it.

Lineker, Shearer and Richards share that sentiment and are expecting it to have an impact on their league campaign.

Lineker “I think it will be very difficult for them, with European football, to do as well as they did last season, so I think they could challenge again for a European spot, but I suspect it will be more like midtable.

Shearer: “Me too, I’m the same, in and around midtable, yeah.

Richards: “I think the season they had last season was just so incredible for them as a club, it’s going to be hard to replicate that, so yeah, midtable for me.”

Adrian Clarke makes ‘surprise’ Nottingham Forest prediction

Former Arsenal and Southend winger Adrian Clarke has tipped Forest to be the ‘surprise’ package this season.

Speaking to the Premier League website, Clarke said: “Would it be a surprise to see Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest flying high again? In the eyes of many, I suspect the answer is yes!

“New signings Dan Ndoye and Igor Jesus look like great fits to me and having held onto all their key men except Anthony Elanga, I don’t see why a major drop-off is being predicted.

“Yes, coping with European football will be tough, but Forest are a well-oiled machine who are capable of pushing for the top eight again in 2025/26. Under Nuno they will always be hard to beat, especially at the City Ground.”

Clarke has predicted Forest to finish in seventh place.
