Stan Collymore played for England whilst he was with Nottingham Forest and once again that concept looks to be becoming the norm.
On Saturday, Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White got minutes for England during a 2-0 win over Andorra in World Cup qualification.
Anderson was praised by Noni Madueke after his 90-minute debut performance, whilst Gibbs-White got 13 minutes from the bench to collect his fourth cap.
The 22-year-old was in fine form and collected the Player of the Match accolade for his debut display, which also caught the eye of ex-Forest star Collymore.

Stan Collymore makes Elliot Anderson claim
Collymore probably should have played more for England during his career, but sadly, there always seemed to be better strikers ahead of him.
Still, he enjoyed a fine career, and for Forest fans of a certain age, he remains one of the finest players to ever wear the Garibaldi.
After the game, Collymore took to X to praise Anderson, who was far and away the best England player on the pitch, to give Thomas Tuchel a huge decision ahead of Serbia on Tuesday night.
He wrote: “A win and a clean sheet, Anderson’s composed performance the stand out, Eze and Madueke decent first half alongside cameos from MGW and Gordon to make things more palatable.”
England place could be Anderson’s for years to come
The issue Gibbs-White faces for England is the number of players with bags of quality who also play in the same position as him.
Anderson, however, doesn’t have such misfortune, and it’s no surprise to see him slot in seamlessly alongside Declan Rice and take the game by the scruff of the neck.
The 22-year-old now has a golden chance to keep the Three Lions badge upon his chest for years to come, with England looking for a player with his exact skillset.
Anderson has been brilliant since signing for Forest over 12 months ago and now he’s finally starting to get the praise that he richly deserves.
