Nottingham Forest take on Arsenal on Saturday afternoon, and the Gunners have proven to be a problem after international breaks before.

Forest have not won since the opening day, and a trip away at the Emirates will prove difficult to break that trend.

Nuno Espírito Santo has some selection headaches, but the squad is stacked with lots of quality all over the pitch.

But one worrying trend could hint at the Tricky Trees struggling on Saturday, and Arsenal will be hoping to continue it.

Nottingham Forest had a great record post-international break except vs Arsenal last season

Last season, there were four international breaks, and in three of those, Nottingham Forest had an unusual coincidence.

Forest picked up 1-0 wins in three of the Premier League games after the players returned from their nation’s matches.

However, in the only game that did not end in a 1-0 win, Arsenal actually defeated the Garibaldi 3-0.

The results are more than likely just a coincidence, but it does show that the Forest manager is able to prepare his team in short turnarounds.

Players such as Chris Wood have long distances to travel, and he’ll have very little time to work on the training ground before the trip to London.

If there was ever a time for the Tricky Trees to pick up three points against Arsenal, now would be the time.

There is no doubt that the Gunners still possess quality all over the pitch, but so do Nottingham Forest.
