Ange Postecoglou is getting to know his new Nottingham Forest squad, but one player is set to immediately depart after confirmation from Fabrizio Romano.
Pressing was a big part of Postecoglou’s first training session as the Reds squad get ready to play an attacking brand of football that will see them further up the pitch than they ever were under Nuno Espírito Santo.
The new methods must be working, though, as Callum Hudson-Odoi praised Postecoglou’s first session, an indication that the players are ready to embrace the new style.
For one member of the Forest squad, though, this first session will be his last, with a post-deadline day move edging closer to being made official.

Jota Silva lands in Turkey ahead of Besiktas move
Amid the excitement of incoming signings on deadline day, Jota Silva’s move to Sporting collapsed, leaving him back at Forest without a place in the squad.
There remained options in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, though, and Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Thursday evening that Besiktas had won the race for his signature.
The loan fee has a permanent option worth around £15m, which can reportedly be turned into a mandatory clause, but the details surrounding that are yet to be confirmed.
Besiktas will be close to announcing Jota as their new attacker, though, with images on social media showing his arrival in Istanbul.
Jota was pictured amid a collection of the Turkish press wearing a Besiktas scarf, as his exit from the City Ground finally looks set to be confirmed. However, his attitude throughout this transfer process deserves credit.
Jota Silva has handled his Nottingham Forest exit perfectly
Postecoglou’s first training session was a well-documented event, with moments such as Murillo’s agility training catching the eye.
Alongside the first team regulars, though, was Jota, training as usual despite his exit from the club being negotiated in the background.
It’s not as if he’s been involved in the matchday squad either, with Jota featuring against Brentford but absent from the bench against Crystal Palace and West Ham.
Therefore, to continue to train and play his part off the pitch is a testament to his character, in a summer transfer window dominated by high-profile deals being pushed through via player protests.
