Ange Postecoglou had mixed feelings about Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 draw with Burnley, but the Reds fans are certain that one regular starter needs to be dropped.
Neco Williams’ first-minute goal was not enough as Forest drew with Burnley on Saturday, as the Reds continue to wait for a first victory since the opening day of the season.
Postecoglou admitted his new signings still need time to adapt to the Premier League, seen especially going forward, as both Dan Ndoye and Dilane Bakwa struggled to impact the game.
However, for the Reds fans, the attacking issues at Turf Moor centred around one of Nuno Espírito Santo’s regular starters, taking to social media to demand that Postecoglou make changes to his starting XI.

Nottingham Forest fans want to see Chris Wood dropped
There’s been plenty of tweaking of options out wide, but Chris Wood has remained a fixture in Forest’s starting line-up for both Nuno and Postecoglou in the Premier League.
Wood has been subbed off in every league fixture, though, but Forest fans now want the Kiwi international to be taken out of the team from the off.
One fan said: “We really need to start looking past Wood. Looks completely off it and too slow for Ange Ball,” while another added: “We need to drop Wood if we’re not going to supply him. Get some pace up top for once.”
Another fan said: “Wood is under some serious pressure to keep his spot,” with one more saying: I don’t care if he got 20 goals, we now have better forwards than Wood. Two in fact.”
One more Forest fan said: “I love Chris Wood, but he just looks so slow at everything he does this season.” Another Red continued: “The end is nigh for Wood as a starter I’m afraid.”
Ange Postecoglou has a big decision to make with Chris Wood
20 goals last season put Wood far clear of the rest of the Forest squad, but he hasn’t shown much in front of goal since his opening day double against Brentford.
| Statistic | Chris Wood vs Burnley |
| Shots (on target) | 2(1) |
| Expected goals (xG) | 0.56 |
| Chances created | 1 |
Against Burnley, Wood had one golden opportunity to score in the first half, giving him an xG of 0.56. Beyond that, though, the New Zealand star had little to work with going forward.
The debate for Postecoglou, then, is whether he waits for his attackers to supply for Wood, or if he trusts one of his more dynamic strikers like Igor Jesus to create for himself.
