Nottingham Forest beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield, with the home fans stunned into silence after Morgan Gibbs-White led a remarkable victory.
Anfield isn’t notoriously loud when things aren’t going in the direction of the Reds, and three sides of the stadium were practically empty by the time Andy Madley had blown his full-time whistle.
Gibbs-White was outstanding during the contest, scoring the third goal that set the finishing touch on a fine victory and his form under Sean Dyche has been magnificent.
A number of players have come in for praise after beating Liverpool, with one BBC Sport pundit now raving about another player from the contest.

Troy Deeney hails Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson
Anderson is the star attraction at the City Ground right now, and despite Gibbs-White’s brilliance at the weekend, it was the Geordie Maradona who came in for the most praise from Deeney.
Deeney named him in midfield alongside Fulham midfielder Sander Berge and heaped praise on the Forest number eight.
He told the BBC Sport website: “Two of the same type of player, and they’re in for the same reason. Their teams won, and everyone will talk about the goal scorers, but without these two, those teams don’t click. They are so good. They break up play, they attack together.”
Anderson will almost certainly be heading to the World Cup after impressing Thomas Tuchel with his performances for England and Forest this season.
Forest will demand huge fee for Elliot Anderson
It’s uncomfortable to talk about Forest losing their top players, but ultimately, that’s just where the club sits in the food chain right now.
Anderson will inevitably be attracting interest, but a strong World Cup and a solid second half of the season with Forest should allow the Reds to command a huge fee.
Forest forked out £35 million for Anderson, and last season he helped the Reds qualify for the Europa League with a seventh-place finish in the Premier League.
Now, he’s doing superb business against teams like Liverpool and on the international stage, which suggests the Reds will make an astronomical profit when the time does come for the club to sell.
Selling won’t be on Dyche’s mind just yet, but ultimately, with Anderson tied to a long-term deal, it’s Forest who hold all of the aces when it comes to any potential sale in the future.
