Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche delivers fitness updates on seven star players ahead of Wolves

After 13 games of the Premier League season, Nottingham Forest have a host of players sitting in the treatment room.

During a 2-0 defeat, Morgan Gibbs-White hobbled off gingerly after injuring his back, whilst Murillo failed to make the squad after hurting his hamstring against Malmö.

Those two are integral to the fortunes of Forest, and the sooner they are back playing, the better things will become for Dyche as he looks to pull the Reds clear of the relegation zone.

Wolves are without a win in the Premier League this season, and as a result, Forest can’t afford to head to Molineux with a depleted squad.

Sean Dyche delivers injury update on seven players

Ahead of the next game at Wolves, Dyche has been asked in today’s press conference about the players who are currently on the treatment table.

It would appear that seven players are all at different stages of their recoveries but there is some good news regarding some of the star men.

For starters, it would appear that Gibbs-White and Murillo should make the match at Molineux, and that is a huge boost for Forest after defeat on Sunday.

Dyche said: “It’s better news. Not everyone’s quite fit yet, but a few are on the grass.

“The ones who aren’t are Taiwo (Awoniyi), (Chris) Wood and Douglas (Luiz), but he’s getting closer.

“Murillo’s okay, he’s got a little bit of a virus today, but should be okay. (Morgan) Gibbs-White came off with a knock, but we’re expecting him to be ready for selection tomorrow.

“(Dilane) Bakwa and (Oleksandr) Zinchenko are both back training. Bakwa will be slightly longer, will need a game to get back up to speed.”

Forest have to beat Wolves on Wednesday

In recent weeks under Dyche, it’s felt like Forest have turned a corner, but after losing to Brighton, it’s vital that the Reds can get back on track as quickly as possible.

With the Reds just a point ahead of the relegation zone, the last thing Forest wants is to be looking over their shoulders going into a busy Christmas period.

Having Murillo and Gibbs-White available for the game at Wolves would be a huge help for Forest when it comes to potentially getting all three points, and hopefully, the duo can start.

With the games coming frantically for Forest, there is a great chance to really kick-start the season, and hopefully, it won’t be too long until Dyche has a fully fit squad to choose from.
