Nottingham Forest urge Evangelos Marinakis to sign star who could be lethal with Morgan Gibbs-White

Morgan Gibbs-White has started to improve his form under the tutelage of Sean Dyche after a slow start to the season.

The Forest attacking midfielder was nominated for the Player of the Month accolade in November after goals against Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Gibbs-White faces Tottenham today for the first time since his failed summer move to North London, and it won’t be long until the Reds are facing interest in their star players again in January.

Dyche’s priority will be to add to the ranks next month, and now, supporters are in no doubt as to who their dream signing for the transfer window is.

Nottingham Forest fans want Brennan Johnson to re-sign in January

Earlier this week, Johnson was linked with a move away from Tottenham, with Crystal Palace placing the forward on a list of transfer targets.

However, Forest fans are seemingly disgusted with the concept of him leaving Spurs and heading to another Premier League club is a big no-go.

Forest fans have taken to X to discuss the possibility of Johnson returning to the club where it all began for him next month, and plenty want him re-signed at any cost.

Another fan claimed: “Need to go back in, if he’s available.”

Another fan begged the Forest board, saying: “Please, Forest, please, just do it!”

Finally, another fan thinks Johnson alongside Morgan Gibbs-White could make for a great second half of the season and said: “Would snap your hand off for him back. His and MGW combining in a counter-attacking team would be superb.”

Johnson shouldn’t be a Forest priority

The Forest academy graduate has naturally got the fan base misty-eyed, given that he’d be open to a Tottenham departure in January.

Palace are massively in need of reinforcements, but when it comes to signing wide players, Forest do appear to be well-stocked at the moment.

Would you welcome Brennan Johnson back at Forest?

Johnson has played through the middle for Tottenham, and if Chris Wood is miles away from full fitness, perhaps there is an argument to suggest the club could sign him to compete for a striker spot.

Forest need other players with more pressing urgency, however, with full-back looking light and central midfield perhaps needs reinforcement.

Johnson signing is a romantic concept, and if things fall into place, nobody would moan. However, Dyche will be under no illusion that signing another winger simply isn’t a priority right now.
