Nottingham Forest-owned gem stifles £15m star during best performance with loan club

Nottingham Forest currently have a number of players out on loan, with a number of players plying their trade in the EFL.

Given that the Reds are now in the Premier League, it’s important that talented youngsters are still given the platform to play and aid their own development.

One of those players allowed to leave Forest was young defender Tyler Bindon, with Sheffield United taking him for the season after he joined the City Ground ranks from Reading.

It’s been a somewhat indifferent season for Bindon – and for Sheffield United – but yesterday, he enjoyed a rare moment in the sunshine under Chris Wilder.

Tyler Bindon stars for Sheffield United

The Blades secured a comprehensive victory over Birmingham, with Bindon scoring his maiden goal for the club, powering home a header in the early stages of the match.

Bindon has found regular action hard to come by since Wilder replaced Ruben Selles as the club’s manager, but he appears to be determined to grasp his latest opportunity.

The New Zealand central defender will be hoping to go to the World Cup next year, and after his latest performance, he was awarded an 8/10 for his efforts by The Sheffield Star.

They wrote: “The jury may still be out on his Blades future after a slow start to his career here but he earned a recall over McGuinness and did his hopes of staying in South Yorkshire no harm whatsoever as he rose highest to nod home his first goal to put United in front.

“It was strangely an almost carbon copy of McGuinness’ first United goal earlier this month, rising highest to head home a Hamer corner into the far corner, from the right, absolutely unmarked.

“The first time I noticed £15 million man Stansfield was playing was when he tried to run Bindon down the touchline and was robbed by the on-loan Forest man so effortlessly, and neither man deviated from those levels throughout.”

Bindon will hope for Forest opportunity

The Reds have signed a number of players since returning to the Premier League in 2022 who simply haven’t been good enough, moving on without playing a game.

Bindon will hope he doesn’t fall into that category, and at 20-year-old, he will hope to develop on loan at Bramall Lane and return to make an impact with Forest.

Will Tyler Bindon ever play for Nottingham Forest?

Doing that won’t be easy though, given that Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic are currently the first-choice options, with Jair Cunha – a highly-rated Brazilian – waiting in the wings for a chance.

All the youngster can do is keep honing his skills, gaining experience and then whatever comes at Forest will take care of itself.
