Sean Dyche makes comical jibe towards Ange Postecoglou as he ticks off first Nottingham Forest milestone

Sean Dyche has started to transform the fortunes of Nottingham Forest since coming in to replace Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian manager didn’t last long at the City Ground, getting handed his papers after a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, ending his 39-day relationship with the football club.

Dyche was dealt a pretty good hand, to be fair. Forest have a squad brimming with talent and all the new head coach has needed to do is provide a bit of guidance to a group low on confidence.

After last weekend’s brilliant 3-0 defeat of Tottenham, Forest sat third in the form table if only the last six games come into play, with Aston Villa and Manchester City the two teams playing better than Forest right now.

Sean Dyche makes comical jibe towards Ange Postecoglou

The head coach is preparing to take his Forest team to Fulham tomorrow night, looking to continue the team’s fine form and pull further clear of the relegation zone.

Dyche needs to make sure that his team are well prepared, and thankfully, the team are at least getting some players back from injury for a busy run of fixtures.

Ahead of the game, he was asked about what he’d like to achieve at the football club, and he started his press conference with a little jibe towards Postecoglou.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: “To make more than 39 days was the first goal, I think I did say that! At least when I made my 40th day, I thought, ‘Right, OK!’

“I felt there were a lot of things we had to change around, which we are beginning to do. I think we are seeing some signs of that, and that has been productive.

“But at the end of the day, we’re only really measured on the league table, not on the work we do behind the scenes.”

Postecoglou has to go down as one of the worst Forest bosses ever

There is certainly a strong argument that Postecoglou is the worst manager to ever be employed by Forest.

Dyche gets the football club. He talks about the we and the us, much unlike Postecoglou, who loved banging the me and I drum to massage his own ego.

🤔Is Ange Postecoglou the worst manager Nottingham Forest have ever had?

The Aussie lasted 39 days at Nottingham Forest but has there ever been a worse manager at the City Ground? Let us know in the comments below if you can think of worse…

Forest have a pretty bleak record away at Fulham, and the trip to Craven Cottage might provide a very useful acid test to the team ahead of Christmas.

Whatever happens, Dyche has done remarkably well to lift the spirits at the City Ground, and it does appear as though the club are definitely heading in the right direction.
