Sean Dyche willing to let three Nottingham Forest players leave in January

Sean Dyche will look ahead to the January transfer window as a chance to reshape his Nottingham Forest squad to a certain extent.

Wholesale changes won’t be required with around £200 million spent in the summer but as with any new manager, he might fancy signing a couple of his own players.

Dwight McNeil has been linked with Forest, and Dyche would clearly be all for that addition, given that he signed the versatile performer from Burnley when he was the Everton incumbent.

In order for new players to arrive at Forest, however, other players will need to make room in the squad, with Dyche now seemingly deciding who has been deemed surplus to requirements.

Three Nottingham Forest players told they can leave in January

According to The Telegraph, Forest are busy preparing for the January transfer window, with three players told that they’re free to find new clubs in the coming weeks.

Willy Boly was one of Nuno Espirito Santo’s trusted leaders inside the dressing room, but he’s found game time extremely hard to come by after signing a one-year extension in the summer.

Another player who has struggled for minutes and can now find himself a new club is Taiwo Awoniyi, who right now is nursing his way back after another injury.

It’s claimed that Awoniyi would like to remain in England with him and his family now settled, and it remains to be seen if any clubs are forthcoming for his services.

Finally, the third player that the report claims can leave won’t come as a surprise, with goalkeeper Angus Gunn now deemed surplus to requirements.

He signed in the summer to bolster competition for places between the posts and bolster the homegrown quota, but Gunn will want regular action ahead of the World Cup next year.

Forest should enjoy quiet transfer window

After spending a lot of money in the summer, it was hard to imagine that Forest would now be on their third head coach of the campaign.

But, that is where we’re currently at, with Dyche now looking ahead to the window to try and get a few things sorted from a Forest perspective.

The Reds are still looking over their shoulder a little bit towards the relegation zone and the hope will be that the squad has enough to avoid relegation.

Still, Dyche won’t want to rest on his laurels and if these three can all get hooked up with new clubs there is no reason some other players can’t be added to the ranks.
