Nottingham Forest lost 2-1 to Manchester City as the club’s Premier League status continued to remain in jeopardy.
Admittedly, West Ham losing to Fulham later in the day helped massively, but this was a game that Forest will feel they should have taken something from.
#City won the piece after a late Rayan Cherki goal, with Omari Hutchinson bagging his first Forest goal earlier in the game.
Cherki’s goal came surrounded in controversy, with Gibbs-White seemingly fouled by Nico O’Reilly in the build-up before he was allowed to lash home.
Wayne Rooney, however, has no sympathy for Gibbs-White.

What Wayne Rooney said about Manchester City’s winning goal
Rooney was a guest on Match of the Day, with Forest’s late concession the topic of conversation.
The former Manchester United and England star was in no mood to give out any sympathy for Gibbs-White, suggesting he actually fouled O’Reilly first.
He said: “If you look, Gibbs-White actually fouls O’Reilly first, he grabs his arm, locks it and then goes over looking for a foul. So no, I think this is a perfectly good goal scored by Manchester City.”
Gibbs-White will now look to lead Forest back to winning ways on Tuesday when Everton arrive at the City Ground.
Gibbs-White has a point regarding referees
Although Rooney is probably right in this situation, Forest had a point with Ruben Dias not being shown a second yellow card.
His foul on Igor Jesus just after half-time should have been a second yellow card, but referee Rob Jones let him off the hook.
Who was the Nottingham Forest Man of the Match vs Manchester City
Nobody will ever convince a fan of a non-Big Six club that there isn’t a bias towards the elite and this was evident once more here.
Forest don’t have too long to dwell on things and must look to attack the Everton game with a bit of a point to prove to get three points put on the board.
