Nottingham Forest player ratings vs West Ham, Neco Williams stars but 5/10 player is becoming a problem

Nottingham Forest claimed a huge win at West Ham to go seven points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

Forest trailed at half-time after Murillo put through his own goal in the early stages of the match.

But, in the second, things quickly turned with Nicolas Dominguez equalising shortly after Crysencio Summerville had a goal disallowed to make it 2-0.

A point would have probably done Forest more so than West Ham but after Alphonse Areola fouled Morgan Gibbs-White in the penalty area, the captain stepped up to make it 2-1.

After the win, we looked at how the Forest players performed and marked them out of 10.

Nottingham Forest player ratings vs West Ham

Matz Sels – 6

Didn’t really have much to do between the posts and was powerless with the goal which came off Murillo.

Ola Aina – 6

Great to see him back in the Forest team after a lengthy spell out injured, and he got forward well, particularly during the first half.

Nikola Milenkovic – 6

Defended well when he needed to at the heart of the Forest back four, although the energetic Taty Castellanos did cause him a few problems.

Murillo – 6

It seems as though his role has been changed under Sean Dyche and it feels as though the head coach wants him to make more long balls up the pitch. Made a superb last-ditch tackle on Jarrod Bowen in the 80th minute.

Neco Williams – 7

Is comfortably Forest’s most consistent player right now and he was mightily unlucky not to get the opening goal with a curling effort that looked destined for the net.

Nicolas Dominguez – 7

Gets a seven as he scored the equalising goal, but certainly in the first half, he will feel that he’s had better games for Forest. Grew in the second half.

Elliot Anderson – 5

Got the assist for the goal with a wonderful corner kick but in truth, his performances are becoming a little bit worrying by his standards with possession lost in key areas far too often.

Callum Hudson-Odoi – 5

Although he gets Forest forward well, he was somewhat wasteful in possession of the ball, particularly in the final third.

Morgan Gibbs-White – 6

Is struggling to get on the ball under Dyche but in fairness to him, he looked pretty comfortable in possession when he did get control in this one. Hugely composed to stick a penalty straight down the middle with two minutes to play.

⭐Who was your STAR MAN during Nottingham Forest’s win over West Ham

Omari Hutchinson – 5

A frustrating night for the winger, who dallied defensively to concede a corner which led to West Ham’s goal. Hooked at half-time.

Igor Jesus – 4

Hard not to feel a bit sorry for Jesus as he’s constantly running the channels but in reality, he needs to be tasked with getting in the box and trying to get on the end of any rare chances that get created.

Substitutes

Dilane Bakwa – 6

Started poorly but actually grew after getting 45 minutes under his belt. It does look as though there is a player in there if he can get some more game time and get used to the league.
