Player unfancied by Sean Dyche at Nottingham Forest could now leave

Nottingham Forest were knocked out of the FA Cup on Friday night as Wrexham won on penalties following a 3-3 draw.

The Reds fought their way back into the game following an inspired performance from Callum Hudson-Odoi, who scored twice in the game.

This month is going to be big for Forest with the Europa League still on the agenda and the team’s Premier League status still massively at risk.

Sean Dyche will want to get some of his own players in to try and help the team’s cause and in turn, that could mean that some players leave the City Ground.

Douglas Luiz could leave Nottingham Forest

According to TuttoSport, Juventus could recall Luiz from his loan at Forest with the outfit feeling it’s obvious that the club don’t really want him.

The Brazilian has struggled to stay fit at the City Ground, and ultimately, it feels unlikely that he will make the 20 Premier League appearances required to make the move permanent.

Luiz played for over an hour on Friday against Wrexham, but it does feel unlikely that he’s got a chance of making the team in the Premier League on a regular basis.

The experienced performer could now be recalled this month and if he does, Forest might find themselves in the market for a new midfielder during the window.

Forest have a decision to make over Luiz

In fairness to Luiz, it’d be no surprise if he decided to move away from Forest and head back to Turin this month.

The player made over 200 appearances for Aston Villa and he must be pretty disillusioned with the sort of football that Forest are playing under Dyche at the moment.

Shoud Forest send Douglas Luiz back to Juventus?

Any midfielder will be stifled in a system that simply commands defenders to lace the ball downfield for the strikers to feed on scraps, and it’s not hard to have some sympathy for Luiz.

The hope will be that Luiz stays with his performance against Wrexham largely okay but it would appear that a decision will be made in the coming weeks regarding the player’s future.
