Nottingham Forest are keen to land a new striker before the transfer window closes.
Chris Wood has been out injured since October and is showing no sign of a return, whilst Igor Jesus has scored one goal in the Premier League all season.
Taiwo Awoniyi is now the only backup for Jesus, with Arnaud Kalimuendo heading out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Forest have been linked with Jorgen Strand Larsen, but at £40 million, that deal looks like a tough one to conclude during a January transfer window.

Nottingham Forest enter Youssef En-Nesyri race
According to Florian Plettenberg, the Reds have entered the race officially for the striker.
The 28-year-old is currently playing for Morocco at the African Cup of Nations, but once his participation in that tournament ends, he will choose his next club.
En-Nesyri has scored eight goals for Fenerbahce this season but could leave during this transfer window.
Intriguingly, the player has already rejected West Ham in previous transfer windows, claiming that the English weather wasn’t for him.
Furthermore, it’s believed that a Middle Eastern outfit are keen to sign En-Nesyri, and it would appear he has lots of options this month.
Everton leading the chase for En-Nesyri
Plettenberg believes that it’s actually Everton who hold the aces for En-Nesyri at the moment and have held concrete talks over his availability.
The Toffees are also in the market for a new striker, with Beto badly out of form and Thierno Barry scoring just three times this season.
🔥Which of these FOUR strikers would you rather Nottingham Forest signed this month?
Let us know the name of the striker you'd rather sign in January below…👇
Forest’s need is arguably greater though and with Jesus desperate for a rest, En-Nesyri would get plenty of game time at the City Ground.
It does feel like there are a lot of moving parts with this deal and it will be fascinating to see what decision he makes once he’s done playing for Morocco at the African Cup of Nations.
