Nottingham Forest haven’t really seen the best of Dan Ndoye since he signed from Bologna in the summer transfer window.
A goal and an assist in his first two games did get the excitement levels raised, but he’s been unable to really prove himself in the Premier League.
Ndoye has only recently returned to action after getting injured against Everton in early December, and it would appear as though he’s yet to really prove himself to Sean Dyche.
Ndoye swapped Italy for £30 million in the summer transfer window, with Forest moving to sign the Swiss performer after Anthony Elanga had been sold to Newcastle.
With Ndoye not yet settled at Forest, it would appear as though a top European club tried to take advantage of his current situation.

Nottingham Forest offered Davide Frattesi proposal
Italian journalist Matteo Moretto has made a claim that suggested Forest are keen to sign Frattesi this month.
It’s believed that Bournemouth are also keen on the midfielder, who looks destined for the Premier League after falling out of favour with Inter.
Now, Moretto has claimed that Inter, like Ndoye made a proposal to Forest that involved cash plus Ndoye as a swap deal for Frattesi this month.
He said on the Fabrizio Romano podcast: “So as things stand today, neither with Juventus nor with Atlético Madrid have the transfer dynamics developed in a positive way.
“The same applies to Nottingham Forest, because as Fabrizio told you, there was an initial idea of a swap deal – a wider operation involving Ndoye – but in that case too the talks did not continue. I can tell you that it’s true, there are several Premier League clubs very interested in Frattesi.
“Bournemouth has been mentioned, Nottingham has been mentioned – yes, that’s true – and there are others as well. But as of today, the situation has not progressed. It’s currently on standby.”
Forest can’t let Ndoye go without a replacement
This swap deal doesn’t make a lot of sense, with Forest already short of attacking options after letting Arnaud Kalimuendo leave for Eintracht Frankfurt this month.
Ndoye is still getting to grips with the Premier League, and perhaps he can still come good if he can force himself back into the first-team reckoning in the coming weeks.

The winger cost £30 million in the summer
The other thing to think about is where exactly Forest would play Frattesi, given that the squad is very well stocked with a number of central midfielders.
Certainly, this month, signing a central midfielder doesn’t feel like the pressing concern for Forest and it’s far more important that the Reds bring attacking quality to the club.
