Nottingham Forest are trying to get a deal to sign Lorenzo Lucca over the line during the transfer window.
The Italian striker is with Napoli at the moment, but has found the going rough since making a summer move to the champions from Udinese.
Lucca scored 14 goals last season to earn him a move to Napoli, but during the 2025/26 campaign, he’s bagged just once for Antonio Conte’s team.
Forest are keen to sign a striker to ease the burden on Igor Jesus, with Arnaud Kalimuendo leaving on loan for Eintracht Frankfurt and Chris Wood currently injured.

How Lorenzo Lucca feels about joining Nottingham Forest
According to Rai Sport journalist Ciro Venerato, Lucca has agreed to sign for Forest this month.
Lucca has reportedly rejected offers from Pisa, Benfica and a number of clubs in Saudi Arabia to sample the Premier League with Forest.
Forest are going to pay around £1 million to take Lucca on loan and will hold an option to purchase him for £32 million during the summer.
Lucca looks like the perfect player for a Sean Dyche system and it will be good to have a physical presence in the penalty area when the team are bombarding the box with crosses.

Lucca will come into the squad and almost immediately get minutes on the pitch, with Jesus in desperate need of some rest after leading the line for a number of months.
Now, it looks as though this deal will go through pretty smoothly and hopefully, he can be signed in time for the tough-looking trip to Brentford next weekend.
Forest need Lucca to hit the ground running
Scoring goals has been problematic for Forest this season, and as a result, the club needs Lucca to come in and immediately start finding the net.
The talisman stands at 6ft 7in, and with Dyche liking his team to stick crosses into the box at every opportunity, he looks like the ideal player for his preferences.

Lucca might need some time to settle into his new surroundings, but with a number of creative players behind him, he should get plenty of chances to find the net.
Forest need to make sure the squad is better at the end of the window and landing Lucca would at least be a positive step in the right direction.
