Nottingham Forest were indebted to Morgan Gibbs-White once again against Manchester City.
Gibbs-White has scored eight Premier League goals this season, and that has now become a best season of goals in the top-flight for the Forest captain.
Forest are now level on points with West Ham as the Hammers remain in the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference after their 1-0 win over Fulham.
Gibbs-White praised Vitor Pereira during a chat with TNT Sports after the draw with City, and fans were quick to comment after the captain got a bit emotional during the post-match pleasantries.

Far too much has been made of Gibbs-White this season following his failed move to Tottenham during the summer transfer window.
Spurs thought they’d signed Gibbs-White, but Evangelos Marinakis stood firm and managed to tempt the number 10 into signing a contract extension with the Reds.
Fans noticed the lump in Gibbs-White’s throat when he spoke about Forest and the fans chanting his name throughout the game.
It’s clear that he has plenty of allies within the Forest fan base and they’ve been keen to show him some love after his latest interview.
One fan said: “Morgs getting a little emotional there! A cracking interview and well-deserved Man of the Match.”
Another is growing tired of the stick he gets, saying: “Remember seeing some fans go as far as saying they’d refuse to celebrate his goals after the summer fiasco. He doesn’t care, remember…boring. Another spotted the emotion in his voice straight away, saying: “People say he doesn’t care? Look at the emotion when he talks. He loves this club. Proper leader. We’d be down without him.”
Another believes the player is the best he’s seen wear the Garibaldi, saying: “Going to be a sad day when he leaves. Best I’ve seen put on the shirt in my lifetime.”
Finally, one concluded with: “We’d already be down without him. Fact.”

Forget what might have happened last summer, Gibbs-White hasn’t let any notion of a failed Tottenham move impact his performances.
The start of the season was a tricky time for Gibbs-White, and he’s taken some time to get going at maximum level during 2025/26.
It’s fair to say that the club’s leading scorer has stood up to be counted when it’s really mattered, however, and he will now look to reach double figures for goals this season.

Forest need a leader of men in this fight against survival, and last night’s positive results for the Reds and West Ham pull some of the other teams into contention.
Gibbs-White has showcased that he clearly loves playing for Forest, and his interview last night was a really classy moment from the Reds star.
