Lorenzo Lucca myth dispelled as fresh injury update explained for Nottingham Forest man

Lorenzo Lucca has been a pretty sizeable flop since signing for Nottingham Forest, and it now appears as though he’s injured.

Lucca scored a consolation goal in a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United in his debut appearance from the bench, but after starting against Wolves in the next game, he missed a sitter during the 0-0 draw.

The Italian checked in at Forest on a six-month loan from Napoli, and it already appears highly unlikely that the £40 million clause will be activated to sign him permanently.

Lucca hasn’t been selected for the last two Premier League games after a very drab 45 minutes against Fenerbahce in the Europa League and now an update on his availability has arisen.

Lorenzo Lucca injury details revealed

According to Radio Marte, it would appear as though Lucca has been nursing an injury to his ankle and has now returned to Italy for some treatment.

Taiwo Awoniyi has been the man to take the role of backup striker in recent weeks, but with the Nigerian not registered for the European campaign, Forest need Lucca back.

The Reds have a big run of fixtures coming up, and the hope will be that Forest can get Lucca back in England and back on the training ground as quickly as possible.

It’s believed that Lucca isn’t suffering from a serious injury, and it’s hoped that he can join back up with Forest in the coming days and prepare for the run-in.

Myth dispelled by latest Lucca reports

At Napoli, there were some reservations over Lucca’s attitude, and it had been suggested that lightning had struck twice at the City Ground.

However, the report has claimed that there is no suggestion at this stage that Vitor Pereira has an issue with Lucca’s attitude at Forest and the reality is that he’s injured.

With Pereira wanting energy and fluid counter-attacking football from his players, it does appear, however, that Lucca is on borrowed time at Forest even when he is fit.
