Nottingham Forest have been drawing up a shortlist of transfer targets in recent weeks.
With the summer transfer window fast-approaching, Nottingham Forest’s recruitment chiefs are actively exploring a number of deals.
Napoli left-back Mathias Olivera is believed to be on Forest’s radar, and so too is St. Pauli goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.
Now, it’s being reported that Vitor Pereira’s side are keeping a ‘close eye’ on one of the best players in the Championship.

Nottingham Forest eye Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer
According to Sportsboom, Nottingham Forest are exploring a move to sign Sheffield United’s number eight Gustavo Hamer.
Hamer is the top assister in the Championship, as he’s laid on an impressive 11 goals, despite operating in a poor side.
Thoughts on this transfer links Forest fans? 🤔
The Blades are languishing in 17th place, and yet, Hamer has still managed to put up some impressive numbers.
| Competition | Games | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Championship | 30 | 2 | 11 |
| FA Cup | 1 | 1 | – |
| EFL Cup | 1 | 1 | – |
Forest are facing stiff competition for Hamer’s signature, as Everton, Brighton and Hove Albion and Leeds United are also circling.
The report claims that the East Midlanders view Hamer as a potential replacement for Morgan Gibbs-White, with Manchester City mooted as a potential destination again.
There will certainly be scepticism among the fanbase if Hamer were to replace Gibbs-White, as clearly there is a gulf in class between the pair.
Although, the Blades talisman did register 11 goal involvements in his sole season in the Premier League, so he is capable.
