Nottingham Forest lost Callum Hudson-Odoi through injury on Thursday night against Porto.
Vitor Pereira was unable to utilise the winger in his matchday squad on Sunday as Forest thrashed Burnley 4-1 to move five points clear of the relegation zone.
Hudson-Odoi has been somewhat inconsistent this season when he’s played, but on his day, he’s a very special player at the Premier League level and also boasts lots of European experience.
After the win over the Clarets, Forest head coach Pereira was quizzed on Hudson-Odoi, and it’s fair to say that it’s far from good news.

Vitor Pereira makes Callum Hudson-Odoi claim
When Hudson-Odoi was forced out of the action against Porto, the winger looked a forlorn figure, and there was a sense then that something was seriously wrong.
Now, it’s been confirmed that Hudson-Odoi is the victim of a serious muscle injury and is facing a fight to make another appearance this season.
Pereira said in his press conference: “It’s a serious injury. It’s very bad news for us. He has had a scan, and now it’s trying to understand if it’s possible for him to recover before the end of the season.”
Hudson-Odoi was at the City Ground yesterday, occupying a box in The Brian Clough Stand and he will be behind the team all the way between now and the end of the season.
Dilane Bakwa fluffed his chance to shine in Hudson-Odoi’s absence yesterday and there is work for him to do in order to convince supporters he’s got what it takes in England.
Omari Hutchinson did produce a positive showing, however, whilst Morgan Gibbs-White bagged his hat-trick playing out wide on the left.
Now, Pereira is the man who must decide what is best to go with in the absence of Hudson-Odoi, and this injury is a big setback for both parties.
