Dean Ashton hails brilliant Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White
Ashton was covering the Forest game as part of the analysis on Monday Night Football, and clearly, he’s a huge fan of Gibbs-White.
The player’s England credentials have once again come into question, with Gibbs-White now the top English goalscorer in the Premier League this season.
Ashton thinks the Forest number 10 has box office talent and has shared what he’s noticed about him this season when he’s played for the Reds.
He said on Monday Night Football: “I’m sure the supporters were tense going into the second half, but then you need these X-Factor players, and Morgan Gibbs-White is the X-Factor player. Funnily enough, Tottenham wanted him and how they could do with him. His attitude is terrific, and he also looks like he still enjoys the pressure. He plays like he knows that he’s the player who everyone looks at in his team to deliver.”
Gibbs-White is the sort of player who cares deeply about doing well for the football club, and as he approaches the end of his fourth season with the club, he’s as important as ever.
With Forest still embroiled in a relegation battle, Gibbs-White’s goals will remain so important for the Reds, and hopefully, he can continue scoring goals.
England squad recognition will take care of itself, and if the Forest captain maintains his current level of scoring form, Thomas Tuchel will have no choice but to give him a call.
