Nottingham Forest are going to be in the market for a number of players in the summer, with a Rangers talent now on the shortlist.

The Reds have to make sure they get their summer recruitment spot on after the debacle of 12 months ago, when the club made some bad decisions.

Several project players were added to the ranks with Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee and Dilane Bakwa all joining the Forest ranks.

Hutchinson has come good now and it would appear that Forest are keen to continue signing young prospects with one eye on the future.

Nottingham Forest want Rangers starlet Bailey Rice

According to Team Talk, Forest are rivalling Aston Villa and Crystal Palace to land the Rangers youngster when the summer window reopens.

Rice hasn’t signed a new contract at Ibrox, and as a result, he’s set to depart the club during the summer window when his current deal expires.

It’s believed that one reason for Rice not penning a new deal with Rangers is a lack of first-team games, and he’s now hoping to win himself a contract in England.

Rice has played 16 games for the senior ranks at Rangers, and now, the 19-year-old will have a host of Premier League clubs looking at him in the coming months.

Michael Beale called Rice a ‘heck of a player’ back in 2023, and now it remains to be seen whether Forest can land their latest project player and bring him to the club.

Rice typically plays in the middle of the park, and it’s certainly positive that the Reds aren’t completely abandoning their interest in players who might make an impact in the future.
