Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Newcastle to ensure another season of Premier League football will be on the cards at the City Ground.
The Reds won their point courtesy of a late equaliser for Elliot Anderson, who stunned his former club with a well-taken effort in front of the Trent End.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST ARE SAFE!!!! What advice would you now give to Evangelos Marinakis ahead of next season?
Later in the day, West Ham lost 1-0 to Arsenal, ensuring that Forest are now mathematically safe from relegation for another season.
The game was another chance for some of the club’s fringe players to stake their claim for a regular place in the team, and one made an absolute mockery of a Sean Dyche decision earlier this season.

Luca Netz makes a fool of Sean Dyche
Earlier this season, Forest travelled to Leeds United for a Friday night clash with a number of defensive injuries.
As Netz had only signed for the club a matter of days before the game, he chose to leave the German out of his team, despite the fact that he’s a youngster with over 100 Bundesliga appearances to his name.
Forest lost the game 3-1, and in a further knock to Netz’s confidence, Dyche chose to leave him out of the Europa League squad, which caused some issues as the competition progressed.
Against Newcastle, Netz was thrust into action at left-back, and despite being given a tough assignment, he came through it with flying colours.
Who Scored showed that Netz created two chances, won four tackles and completed 100% of his passes, with each of those stats making him the best player on the pitch for those metrics.
Will Luca Netz become the first choice left-back at Nottingham Forest next season?
It’s quite laughable that Dyche chose not to use such a competent player, and his handling of Netz is another blemish on the former head coach’s time at Forest.
Netz can become a regular next season
Forest need to address their full-back options in the summer after being left woefully short at certain points of this season.
Netz has now thrown his hat into the ring to be a regular starter under Vitor Pereira, and clearly, he’s seen something in the left-back.
Dyche did lots of things wrong at Forest, and one of those things was definitely his decision not to play Netz a little bit more.
The talented player is growing with each game in England and he will now hope to come back with every intention of grabbing the spot next season.
