Vitor Pereira explains whether Morgan Gibbs-White will play for Nottingham Forest again this season

Morgan Gibbs-White was an unused substitute for Nottingham Forest as Aston Villa sent the Reds packing in the Europa League.

Forest were seriously depleted for the trip to the West Midlands, with Gibbs-White joining Ola Aina, Ibrahim Sangare and Murillo in not being available for the game.

Would you be happy with this team today?

If not, what changes would you make?

Gibbs-White’s availability has come under scrutiny once again this week ahead of today’s clash with Newcastle in the Premier League as Forest look to seal the deal and survive relegation.

Vitor Pereira was quizzed on the fitness of his talismanic captain ahead of the visit from the Magpies and it doesn’t sound overly positive on Gibbs-White.

Vitor Pereira makes Morgan Gibbs-White claim

Gibbs-White looks unlikely to be available for today’s contest, and that is a huge concern for Forest.

A bigger concern is that Pereira doesn’t really know when Gibbs-White will be available to return from the gruesome injury he sustained against Chelsea.

He said in his press conference: “I cannot answer because I don’t know.

“I don’t know about Morgan, I don’t know about Ola. Callum is finished this season. I don’t know about Murillo, and I think Dan (Ndoye) might be ready to come back.”

Gibbs-White will be desperate to get back towards full fitness and help Forest pick up points between now and the end of the season.

It would be such a shame if the talismanic number 10 didn’t play for Forest again this season, and given how well he’s played, there will be interest in the summer.

Gibbs-White is the heartbeat of the Forest team, and hopefully, he will feature again before the season finishes in a couple of weeks.
