Morgan Gibbs-White is arguably the in-form player in the Premier League, yet the Nottingham Forest man won’t be going to the World Cup.
Gibbs-White finished the season with 18 goals and seven assists, with a superb goal against Bournemouth on the final day, sending a resounding message to Thomas Tuchel.

Forest fans have despaired at the antics of the England head coach, who has seemingly overlooked every player in form, with lesser players getting the nod.
Now, with the season over, Gibbs-White has broken his silence on the news that he won’t be going to the World Cup this summer.

Morgan Gibbs-White gutted he’s not heading to the World Cup
Gibbs-White will now get some well-deserved rest and be ready to return to Forest when pre-season training gets underway.
It’s clearly something that has hurt him not being picked for the World Cup, but he believes England do have the tools to go all the way this time around.
He told Sky Sports: “It’s every kid’s dream growing up to play at a World Cup or be part of a World Cup squad, so yeah, I’m disappointed, really disappointed, but I was happy with how I performed in the second half of the season and in my eyes, I don’t think I could have done any more.
“Obviously, it’s disappointing because it was a dream of mine to go to the World Cup, but I’m wishing the boys all the luck, all the best wishes, and I genuinely believe we’ve got everything we need to win it.”
Gibbs-White is right to suggest that he couldn’t have possibly done any more to enhance his chances of getting in the England squad.
It will probably hurt him knowing that, seemingly, whatever he did, Tuchel just doesn’t seem to fancy him, and that is a real shame from a football perspective.

Gibbs-White would be unlikely to start for England, but when it comes to sticking a player into the action to get a goal or change a game, the Forest man would have been perfect.
Gibbs-White is adored by the Forest fan base, and the hope now will be that he is kept at the City Ground, ready to try and kick on next season.
