Hayden Hackney is going to be one of the most talked-about players this summer, with Nottingham Forest previously interested.

The Middlesbrough midfielder is set to leave the beaten Championship play-off finalists after their narrow defeat to Hull City.

Will Evangelos Marinakis part with the money for Hayden Hackney?

Is he capable of replacing Elliot Anderson at the City Ground?

Hackney has a single year to run on his contract and has been linked with Forest, Manchester United, Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

Now, however, a new club has come forward, and it’s believed the player wants the move to happen.

Hayden Hackney wants Everton transfer

According to The Athletic reporter David Ornstein, the midfielder is dead set on a move to Everton this summer after hearing of their interest.

The Toffees tailed off in the final part of the campaign and missed out on European football, much to the dismay of their supporters.

Hackney is keen to move to Merseyside this summer, with David Moyes keen to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.

It’s thought that a fee in the region of £30 million could be enough to get him out of the Riverside Stadium during this window and Forest are set to miss out.

Forest interest in Hackney not intense

It appears that some reports from a week or two ago suggesting Hackney was a top target of Forest’s are wide of the mark.

🤝Who should be the FIRST player sold by Nottingham Forest this summer?

Forest will likely need a replacement for Elliot Anderson this summer, but it would appear as though Hackney isn’t on the shortlist.

The Athletic have started to release some transfer nuggets, and it’s believed that Hackney is a difficult deal for Forest to complete this summer.

Now, it will be interesting to see what Hackney achieves in his career and whether or not the club regrets not placing him higher up their transfer shortlist.
