Nottingham Forest head coach Vitor Pereira will see his contract expire at the City Ground in 12 months.

The incumbent replaced Sean Dyche in February and led the team on a brilliant run of form, which saw the team secure survival with two games to spare.

What message would YOU send to Vitor Pereira ahead of next season? What’s he done well and what does he need to change?

Pereira also guided Forest to the semi-final of the Europa League, and it’s fair to say that the hierarchy are satisfied with the work which he’s undertaken.

It had been claimed that Pereira was to be offered a new contract this summer, but now an update on that situation has come to light.

According to the journalist, it’s believed that Pereira is going to reject any advances from Al-Hilal after they were thought to be keen on the head coach.

However, it’s also claimed that a surprising twist has now emerged in the sense that Pereira won’t sign a contract extension this summer.

It’s not as cynical as things sound, however, with both Pereira and Forest happy to see how things pan out first before committing to anything more long-term.

Pereira will have the remit of continuing the fine work he did at the City Ground when next season gets underway, and it appears both parties are happy with this outcome.

Forest do probably have reservations after a season which saw them go through four managers last time out, and want to see if Pereira can avoid a repeat of the second season syndrome he had at Wolves.

Pereira will form a big part of the Forest recruitment plan, and alongside the likes of George Syrianos, the hope will be that a strong window can take place.

This shouldn’t be seen as a big problem in the eyes of Forest supporters, and it’s positive that Pereira is at least committed to the City Ground to prove himself all over again next season.
