England manager Thomas Tuchel isn’t particularly popular among Nottingham Forest supporters.
Tuchel snubbed Morgan Gibbs-White from his England squad despite the Nottingham Forest captain excelling last term.
Gibbs-White’s 19 goal involvements was the second most of any Englishman in the Premier League, so it was a huge shock not to send him to the World Cup.

However, in hindsight, Tuchel has actually done Forest a massive favour by making that controversial decision.

Thomas Tuchel could indirectly help Nottingham Forest keep Morgan Gibbs-White
Although it was frustrating not to see Gibbs-White in the England squad, it’s actually done Forest a huge favour.
That’s because he isn’t in the shop window for big clubs this summer and is instead resting ahead of pre-season with the Tricky Trees.
We’ve already seen how much a positive cameo in the World Cup can move the needle in terms of stock and potential transfers.
After Ayyoub Bouaddi’s superb display for Morocco against Brazil, there have been several top clubs that have entered the race to land his signature.
And, it’s clear that Bouaddi’s head has already turned, as reports suggest he is open to leaving Lille for Arsenal.
Would you take Khephren Thuram at Nottingham Forest next season? 🔥
Forest don’t have to worry about Gibbs-White being approached by external parties either, or even just fellow England teammates about a move to one of the top six.
Indeed, it would’ve been great to see the 26-year-old out in America, but in truth, it’s probably given the club a much better chance of retaining his signature.
It recently came out that Forest are desperate not to sell Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson, so it looks as though only the latter will depart the City Ground.
