Nottingham Forest are set to announce the exit of Elliot Anderson, with Manchester City set to finally get their man.
The midfielder is currently at the World Cup with England and has played in all three group games as England topped Group L to reach the last 32.
England will next face DR Congo on Wednesday evening, with Anderson looking set to keep his place in the Forest midfield for that fixture.
However, by the time that game comes around, Anderson might officially be a Manchester City player with a medical set to take place in New York.

Kyle Walker spots issue with Manchester City signing Elliot Anderson
There is no saying that Anderson isn’t a great player, but his prospects of regular football at City could look bleak, according to Kyle Walker.
He believes that with a wave of talent in place at the Etihad Stadium, Anderson will have to compete to get his place in the team in the North West.
💰Who is YOUR dream signing to replace Elliot Anderson this summer?
The midfielder is set for a £116m move to Manchester City
Walker has been speaking to The Sun and he’s highlighted the big problem in detail, regarding Anderson swapping Forest for City.
He said: “Listen, Elliot Anderson is a great player, and he’s had a good season at Nottingham Forest. To pay that kind of money, I’ll still stand on what I said, that he’s going to want to start now.
“Obviously, Bernardo’s leaving, it frees up a gap in that midfield, but with him playing the same position as Rodri plays, I find it not strange, because I feel that City do that, and City go for the best players that they can go for.
“But I still think they’re making themselves a little bit of a problem in a way that, where does everyone play? Rodri’s going to want to play, Elliot Anderson’s going to want to play. Does he push one of them forward? Does he sit with a two?”
Anderson will play at City
There is absolutely no way that City would pay £116 million for a midfielder and not play, with Anderson surely set to star for them.
The talented player will almost certainly be part of Enzo Marseca’s plans for the foreseeable and given that he’s set to earn £300k-a-week at City, the concept of him being a sub looks flawed.
Forest won’t care too much whether or not Anderson gets minutes at City, and with the new wealth in the bank, the emphasis will be placed on getting a replacement over the line.
Forest fans will never forget how professional Anderson has been throughout this ordeal, and the fact that he leaves the club on good terms is always positive.
