Nottingham Forest star Ibrahim Sangare has helped the Ivory Coast qualify for the knockout stages of a World Cup for the first time in history.
Sangare was a real menace in the engine room during the 2025/26 campaign. He formed a brilliant partnership with Elliot Anderson, with the number eight now set for Manchester City.

That has left Forest with a void to fill in the middle of the park and the latest link is one that will likely go down extremely well with Sangare if the Reds can get it over the line.
Nottingham Forest want Christ Inao Oulai
The 20-year-old has been impressive at the World Cup so far and it looks certain that the Trabzonspor player will leave Turkey for a top European league at some point.
According to the Daily Mail, the Ivory Coast international is on the shortlist of targets to replace Anderson, with his move to Manchester City set to go through as planned.
💰Who is YOUR dream signing to replace Elliot Anderson this summer?
The midfielder is set for a £116m move to Manchester City
Oulai was a regular with Trabzonspor last season, scoring twice and claiming four assists, with the midfielder also collecting 11 yellow cards.
It does appear as though the wonderkid is going to be on the move this summer, and Forest might have the edge over any other interested parties.
Sangare should stick a word in for Forest
The Ivorian has been at Forest for three seasons now, and the 2025/26 campaign was arguably his best to date following his £30 million move from PSV.
Oulai will see Sangare as a leader in the Ivory Coast dressing room, and perhaps he can view moving to Forest as a chance to learn from a superb midfielder and compatriot on a regular basis.
Oulai is likely viewed as more of a project player by Forest, given that he’s only 20, but if the price is right, this could still prove to be a very useful addition to the ranks.

This deal might not be that tricky to complete, given that Oulai would surely jump at the chance to move to the Premier League.
Indeed, if Sangare can put a word in for Forest, perhaps the addition can become a foregone conclusion with the Reds landing one of Europe’s top future talents ahead of his best years.
